World War I, a time of great unrest, When nations rose up to put their foes to the test. The guns roared, the shells flew, As brave men fought and died, their blood ran red and true. The trenches were their home, a hell on earth, Where death lurked at every turn, giving no respite, no mirth. But through it all, the soldiers fought on, Defying the odds, until the war was won. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten, For they fought for freedom, their honor unbegotten. So let us remember World War I, And all the brave men who gave their lives, for you and for me.
